Things that are frustrating me at this moment in time

Here's a list of random things that I'm frustrated about right now.

  • how unorganized 'organized' soccer really is
  • the person that thinks one hour and a half practice is enough before the first game
  • how in the world am i supposed to feed my kids anything remotely good for them if we're at some kind of practice three nights a week from 6-8
  • why is it so stinking hot outside
  • the people that work at kroger that don't know how to bag groceries.
  • how hard is it to put all the cold stuff together so that i don't have to go searching for it
  • this display of beer

  • how accessible should beer really be
  • kroger (in general)
  • school fundraisers (kathrin, you got me to thinking about this one, and how unfair it is to the kids, but i feel the same way you do)
  • laundry (we got home a little before nine last night, and this morning, brady asked me if i got his compression shorts clean. apparently he thinks i don't sleep)
  • 12 year old feet and how they won't stop growing
  • all the paper our schools are wasting by handing out the same things for me to sign every year
  • the thought of watching brady at practice next week, when they wear their pads and actually hit each other
  • the fact that i want brady to hit harder than he gets hit
I think that's my list for now. I always think of something right after I hit publish post, so don't be surprised if there's more later. A lot of things frustrate me, but mostly I'm joking around.

Chloe starts kindergarten!

Here are a few pictures from this morning. Chloe had a partial day at school, and loved it! She can't wait to go back. She's already begging me to ride the bus too!

Everyone has survived...so far.

Well, we've made it through the first week of school. The boys are both pretty happy in their classes. We've met Brady's teacher, and she seems really nice. She's also a big Florida Gators fan, which Brady loves! This is the second year in a row that his teacher has been a Gators fan. Chloe had her kindergarten screening this week, and we got to meet her teacher last night. She has a couple of partial days next week, and then her first full day on Friday. She's very excited, and can't wait to start. She would have preferred to start this week with her brothers! Avery seems happy as well, and is glad to have some friends in some of his classes. I think he has an open house next week, so I guess we'll meet his teachers then.
Week one of school is done. Just a million more to go!

The first day of school

The first words out of Brady's mouth this morning were, "Who cares about school." Then he rolled back over and tried to go back to sleep. He's not a fan of school, or homework, or work in general. He's a fan of sleep, and sports, and eating junk food.
I couldn't believe Brady's choice of shirts for the first day. He hasn't even met his teacher because he was sick last week when we were supposed to register. She's going to make a note of this I'm sure. I told him I wanted a picture, and asked him to show me how excited he is about school.
This next picture I told him to smile, and not just any smile, but made him think about a certain little girl that's in his class this year. That's why he's squinting at me.
On second thought, I can totally believe his choice of shirts. It's so Brady. But I did have a talk about behaving and being respectful. Just in case. But really, I know Brady. And I know that he talks a big talk about not liking school, but he's probably one of the better behaved boys there. He is still a boy, and he doesn't like to sit still, but he's not a trouble maker like his shirt implies.

I forgot to get a picture of Avery this morning. I told him that on the way to school and he was glad, because he doesn't like his hair right now. It's too long for him. I love saying that! I never thought we would be on the same page about hair length!! I'll get one this afternoon though, whether he likes it or not!!

Here's what I've been doing this week...

You guys know how I am about my cakes... super critical, but I decided to share it anyway. I'm pretty excited with how it turned out. This is my first attempt at a three tiered cake. I really like the piping because it's so easy and forgiving.

Template designer

I've seen several people change the look of their blog lately, and it made me want to change mine. Then somehow the image I had on mine was deleted, so I changed it. I've now changed it two or three times since then, because I couldn't find one I really liked. Or it was the same as other blogs I visit, and I wanted something different. So anyway, I just found all the background images!! I'm so excited! I thought you could only chose premade templates, but I was wrong. I'll probably be changing it every couple of weeks, just because I can. :)

I'm hoping to get some new pictures on here next week. Between having a sick kid this week and two cakes due in a few days, I've been a little busy. No excuses next week!

This is how busy we've been!

Last week we went to Chattanooga with my parents, brother and sister and all the grandkids but one. We had a great time at Lake Winnie and the Tennessee Aquarium. I have about 350 pictures from just three days. It was a whirlwind trip, but it was worth it.
This picture is on the way home. We dropped my parents off, and grabbed some supper on the way home. Chloe fell asleep while eating. I think this one picture can sum up our whole summer...wonderful!
