Brady's volcano

Brady had fun with his volcano project for school. I think he did a great job. Unfortunately, the homemade dough didn't hold it's shape, and by the next morning it looked like the volcano had already erupted. Of course we waited until the last day, so we couldn't redo it. We fixed it the best we could, and promised Brady that it would be fine. He wasn't too bummed, because he still got to make it erupt, and really that's all that mattered.
I have one question though...is three weeks before the end of school really the best time for such a big project?

Chloe's preschool program

Chloe had her end of the year program at preschool last night. Before she started school, I don't think she would have enjoyed being on stage in front of a few hundred people, but she loved it! She did awesome! We took a video, but not on the digital camera, so I don't think I can put it on here. She was all about remembering everything she was supposed to do. We are so proud of her! We are also proud of all that she has learned at school this year. She is getting so big!!

Seriously?!

So, I've been having problems with one of my knees lately. It's been hurting for about a month, and I've been limited as to what I can do. It has made me feel quite old, but then I got this.






I know I don't earn a paycheck, but it doesn't mean I'm retired! It was a real pick me up, let me tell you. (sarcasm alert)

Chloe's drawings

This first one is a dog. I didn't even know she knew how to draw a dog! She told me it's 'Angel', which was Sam, Emma and Tessa's dog that passed away recently. I thought that was cute.

This is a 'slug bug.' The kids are always playing, and recently she started joining in. She's quite good at spotting them too.


Here are a couple of drawings that Chloe has done recently. She loves to color, and is really good at staying in the lines. Just lately, she's been more into drawing. I was quite impressed with these. Maybe she'll follow in Avery's footsteps when it comes to art.

Recycling and Chik-Fil-A

So, I'm not going to blog about the rain today. Really, there's nothing else to say about it, other than when will it stop?! As frustrating as it can be right now, all I can think about is the drought a couple of years ago. Thank you God for the rain!
Ok, so on to what I am blogging about. Tuesday night we went to Chik-Fil-A after Avery's soccer practice. They were having a special kids' night, and all the kids' meals were $1.49, and you could order as many as you wanted. So, we all went and ate for $10! And...that included ice cream! I love a good deal! They also had some utility trucks and police cars there for the kids to check out. It was a fun evening, and not nearly as crowded as I expected. (here's what I really want to share. sometimes it takes me a while to get there!) Well, while we were eating Brady asks if we want to take some of our trash home to recycle. He felt bad throwing it all away since we had so many bags. We've really been trying to step it up when it comes to recycling. Our local facility doesn't take very much, so we've started taking everything to Sams. I was hoping to take it weekly, but that hasn't quite happened. I'll get into the routine eventually! Anyway, I thought it was really cool that Brady thought about that. It just shows that he's thinking about what he throws away. We didn't bring home all our trash, but we did bring all the bags from the kid meals. Good job Brady! Keep it up!

Rain, rain and more rain

So, does anyone remember just a few weeks ago when I was complaining that we never have good ole' thunderstorms? Well, no need to complain anymore. We've had thunderstorms since Thursday, with no end in sight. I've really enjoyed listening to the rain and thunder during the day, but waking up to it two nights in a row is getting old. Brady is the only one in the house to sleep through it all, which is really not a surprise. That boy can sleep through anything. Anyway, I'm very thankful for the rain, because I still remember how dry it was a couple of years ago. I just need to be creative and come up with things for the kids to do inside so we don't drive each other crazy. If it was just rain with no lightning, I would send the kids out to play in the rain!

Wrestle time with Daddy!

This happens often at our house. The kids all love to wrestle with Keith, including Chloe. She gets tired of it quicker, but she still loves it. Brady would wrestle every spare moment if Keith was up for it.
