Halloween party
Avery got an invitation from someone in his class to a halloween party. I'm so torn about what to do. I know I'm overprotective, but is there really any other way to be anymore? I really want to let him go so he can get to know everyone better. I don't think he really feels like he has good friends yet. The problem is that I have no idea who these people are. We don't know any of the parents here. It's so stressful to figure this stuff out. I know this is only the beginning of all this kind of stuff. I know Avery's a good kid, and I completely trust him, but I don't know about everyone else. I remember my parents telling me that when I was growing up. "I trust you, but it's everyone else out there that I'm worried about!" I guess we have a week or so to decide. Sometimes I get so busy trying to figure things out myself, that I forget to turn to the one "person" who can help me the most.

My thought is that he's so young, I can't imagine them doing/watching/participating in anything questionable. I think it would be good to just call up the parents to just introduce yourself & get acquainted over the phone. Maybe you can just make small talk, then see what the plans are for the night. I think it will be really great!!! But this way you can just see if they sound like folks that you're comfortable leaving Avery with!
