Avery is very happy, as you can see. He got his braces off yesterday, but more importantly, he got his expander out. The braces were only on the bottom front four teeth, so they weren't that big a deal. The expander has been in his mouth for over a year. He can actually touch the roof of his mouth now. He can also stop making weird noises when he eats! (ok, maybe that last one is more exciting for the rest of us!) He's been such a good sport with all that junk in his mouth. I keep trying to convince him that one day he'll be glad he went through all this while he's young. He still has quite a bit to go. The braces he had were just to bring those bottom teeth together while we wait on all his permanent teeth to come in. Once they're all in, he'll need braces on all his teeth. We aren't focusing on that right now though. We're going to just let him enjoy this! And of course, he is enjoying chewing gum again!!

Great picture! Congrats buddy!
He is SO cute! Graham is going through the same thing right now--he is in the expander only stage and will get his braces (4 top and 4 bottom) in Nov-Dec. And YES, I will be VERY GLAD not to have those funny noises while eating!
Tell him I said congratulations!! He HAS been a trooper about it. :)
Ah, I remember braces. I'm happy for him, I know the feeling.
