Chloe proudly showed me her pink toenails, while they were still wet! Notice the little spot on the carpet also. That's awesome.

Earlier today, Chloe asked me to paint her nails, so I did. I told her we weren't doing toes today. She asked if she could paint mine, and then asked if she could paint her own. I thought we were in agreement on the answer, but apparently not. The second picture is after I took her nail polish out of her room. She got it in a makeup set, and it has never occurred to me that it shouldn't stay in her room. I never thought she would attempt painting her nails on her own. I had to smile about the whole thing, but where she couldn't see me. It was really cute, but at the same time, I had to make sure she understood that she can't do it again. Parenting is such a balance.

Becca did the same thing at that age! I remember it well! (in a new house)
Don't you feel "wise parenting" would have prevented nail polish from being IN the room of a three-year-old? I think it was a little irresponsible for you to purchase make-up with nail polish in the FIRST place. Learn from your mistakes!
Oh! I wonder if that was the make-up set that I purchased for Chloe! Of course it is! I know that you and Keith are much wiser that THAT! I am so sorry. Tell Chloe that we will paint toes here.

Mom, notice I didn't say where she got the makeup set!! I was a little shocked, but once I saw that there was only a tiny spot on the carpet, it wasn't a big deal. I wasn't mad, just interested in getting pictures. She LOVES her makeup, so I can't imagine her life without it!! She knows now that she shouldn't do it by herself. I'm sure she would still love to get her toes painted at your house!
Mom always told me that she could tell if I was into something because I was too quiet. I guess Chloe is the same way. Abbey sings to herself, so I guess if she isn't singing I need to check on her, huh? You have to admit that Chloe looks good in pink! :)
oh. my. word. the second picture says it all.
LOL--just a word of warning, you might want to remove that makeup from her room too . . . my princess has been pretty creative with it as well and those nice bright colors like to stick around! Anna Beth's 'makeup box', also purchased by grandma, now lives in my bathroom on a very high shelf and only comes out under supervision! HA!
so funny!
The look Chloe has on her face in the second picture is EXACTLY the look my daughter shows when she's been busted! Wow, must be a girl thing!
