Poor Coco!

I took Chloe to the doctor today for an ear infection that we can't seem to get to go away. We've already tried two rounds of antibiotics, and now it's worse! Before she only had one ear that was infected, but now they're both infected and she has a cold. She also can't hear very well because of all the gunk. (this is the most frustrating part for me!) So, we had several options today to get rid of it. We could do another oral medicine, a shot and an oral med, or three shots (in three days). Hmmm...Chloe has always been good about taking medicine, but she hated the last one, and it was not always easy to get her to take it. I decided to go with the three shots. I figured the shot and the medicine was the worst choice because she would not only have to get a shot, but also take nasty medicine. Plus, the three shots has the best chance of getting her healthy. I told Chloe that she was going to get a shot, and she was fine. She actually hugged me because I told her she wouldn't have to take any medicine. The one thing the doctor didn't tell me is that this shot is a pretty bad one. It's probably better that Chloe and I were in the dark about that part. The nurse came in and told me though, so I had to hold Chloe so that she wouldn't jerk once she felt it. Chloe has only had one shot in the past few years, and it was a flu shot. That's what she was expecting, but she quickly found out that this one was different. She did so awesome though, and didn't even cry. She just teared up and kept looking at the nurse like, "when is this going to be over?" She really is amazing! She definitely doesn't take after me. I literally ran from the doctor when I was little, and it was over a flu shot!! (This reminds me that I need to buy something nice for my mom for putting up with me!!) Anyway, the nurse made a big deal of how good Chloe did, and gave her two suckers. That made her happy. I debated about whether or not to tell Chloe about the next two shots, but finally I decided to tell her. I'm hoping that this doesn't make her hate going to the doctor again. She got a bacon biscuit for lunch, and I've already promised her a trip to Toys R Us on Wed. I'm not above bribery!

Poor thing. I hope this helps her get better. (She was much better than I would have been too, by the way!)

Poor baby! I understand the ear thing! They gave us an expectrant to help with Becca's ears. Until the e-tubes release the swelling, the infection may not go away. You may need an ENT doctor. Been there too much, until we seen an ENT doctor. Good Luck!
