You know you've been stuck in the house too long when...

  • finding $9 in the laundry is the most exciting thing to happen in nearly a week
  • you find a hole in two pair of pajama pants and in your favorite houseshoes
  • you take a shower and get dressed (in jeans and a sweater), and your son asks why you're dressed
  • you're excited about getting out, if only to take your child to the doctor (not happy about the sick child part though)
  • you start wondering if maybe you should look for a job (not really, i'm too lazy for that!)
  • cleaning the house actually feels good
  • you wonder why it's so stinking bright outside
  • you normally love winter, but start dreaming about spring
  • you feel like crying when you get the call that school is out...again
  • you think about sending the sick child back to school regardless of his fever (100% joking about this one. it's a soapbox issue for me.)
  • you can't remember the last time you left the house to go somewhere other than the grocery store or the doctor's office
  • you aren't normally a big planner, but find yourself craving routine
So, some of these might be a slight exaggeration, but it seemed funnier that way. Of course, it's probably only funny to me, but at least I was entertained for a few moments. Anyone have any to add?!? Or am I the only one that could use a little normalcy ( or at least as close as it comes around here)!!

how about 'when your kids play outside for three hours, you tell them that they'll never have to do chores again if they do that everyday.' (that's gonna come back to bite me, isn't it?)
or
'you have a 'minor' meltdown when you realize you've cooked a hot meal three times a day for four days while, strangely, the couch cushions have become permanently indented with everyone else's body impressions.'

How about my husband went back to work and had hunger pains and got light headed because he was waiting until lunch to eat, instead of what we did when we were snowed in - eat every hour on the hour...

Libby,
Keep "editorializing" (my term). You deserve to do that any time!!
It's my opinion and oughta be yours. :-)
