Chloe and I were in Nashville yesterday, and decided to go to the zoo! We didn't have all day to spend there, but she picked a few things to see, and of course she got to play at the park. It was a beautiful day, so we were among many that thought it was a nice day for the zoo. It was also spring break for Davidson Co. (Nashville), so it was really crazy. We enjoyed it anyway, and we're looking forward to going back next week with the boys.

This boy is ready for baseball!

Baseball practice has begun! Not that we've made it to any of them yet. They've had to cancel most of them because of all the rain, but the one that didn't get canceled was on Wed. These pictures are before a practice that eventually got canceled, but we didn't know at the time. He has practice again tonight, but it's a little earlier, so he gets to go for 30-40 minutes. Our lives are about to get really crazy with Brady playing baseball and Avery playing soccer.

I'm tired of snot, and is it spring yet?

Strange title, I know, but it's how I really feel. I've never been much for hiding my feelings!! Anyway, it's been a little crazy around here lately, but I think we're finally getting back to normal. Chloe seems to be feeling much better. She still sneezes occasionally and has tons of snot, but hopefully that will get better soon. She was a trooper for all of her shots. She still isn't afraid of the doctor, and is now even more spoiled (if that's possible) because of the treats she got each day. Avery is doing much better and has been in school all week. We've enjoyed some warm springlike days lately, but then the temperature drops fifty degrees and it snows. We're all really ready for some warm days. Crazy weather!
Now to the pictures...We took a quick trip to Florida to see Keith's Mama. She lives in Texas, but she's staying at his parents' house for a couple of weeks. We don't get to see her very often, so we didn't want to pass up this chance. On the way to dinner one evening, we stopped at the beach for a few minutes. The kids always love the chance to go, even if it's just for a few minutes. We had a fun weekend, and enjoyed hanging out with Mama. Unfortunately, I didn't get any pictures of the kids with Mama, but I know Keith's mom did. Maybe I'll get some from her and put one on here.

Poor Coco!
I took Chloe to the doctor today for an ear infection that we can't seem to get to go away. We've already tried two rounds of antibiotics, and now it's worse! Before she only had one ear that was infected, but now they're both infected and she has a cold. She also can't hear very well because of all the gunk. (this is the most frustrating part for me!) So, we had several options today to get rid of it. We could do another oral medicine, a shot and an oral med, or three shots (in three days). Hmmm...Chloe has always been good about taking medicine, but she hated the last one, and it was not always easy to get her to take it. I decided to go with the three shots. I figured the shot and the medicine was the worst choice because she would not only have to get a shot, but also take nasty medicine. Plus, the three shots has the best chance of getting her healthy. I told Chloe that she was going to get a shot, and she was fine. She actually hugged me because I told her she wouldn't have to take any medicine. The one thing the doctor didn't tell me is that this shot is a pretty bad one. It's probably better that Chloe and I were in the dark about that part. The nurse came in and told me though, so I had to hold Chloe so that she wouldn't jerk once she felt it. Chloe has only had one shot in the past few years, and it was a flu shot. That's what she was expecting, but she quickly found out that this one was different. She did so awesome though, and didn't even cry. She just teared up and kept looking at the nurse like, "when is this going to be over?" She really is amazing! She definitely doesn't take after me. I literally ran from the doctor when I was little, and it was over a flu shot!! (This reminds me that I need to buy something nice for my mom for putting up with me!!) Anyway, the nurse made a big deal of how good Chloe did, and gave her two suckers. That made her happy. I debated about whether or not to tell Chloe about the next two shots, but finally I decided to tell her. I'm hoping that this doesn't make her hate going to the doctor again. She got a bacon biscuit for lunch, and I've already promised her a trip to Toys R Us on Wed. I'm not above bribery!

I'm tired of sick people.
Avery has been home sick all week, and he'll be home again tomorrow. I thought he might get to go back today, but then he woke up with a fever. Ugh. He has felt worse today than he has all week, with the exception of Monday night when he woke up with a really high fever. I don't know what he has. Keith took him to the doctor yesterday, and they said it's a virus of some sort. Isn't it always a stupid virus?! Of course, because then all you can do is wait. On top of it all, we're supposed to go to Florida tomorrow. Keith's Mama is at his parents' house, so we're going to visit with her. I hate to bring sick kids to be around her. I'm really hoping that Avery will wake up feeling better, and be fever free tomorrow. Chloe had a really low grade fever this afternoon, so I'm hoping that she doesn't come down with whatever Avery has.

Snow day...kind of

Technically the kids didn't really have a snow day on Monday, but we made one anyway! They were supposed to go in two hours late, but I decided that a snow like this doesn't happen very often, so I let them stay home. Of course, now I have a sick one at home, so that's probably my payback. Actually letting him stay home just means that we didn't share whatever crud he has with his class. They should be thanking me!! Ok, enough of that. The kids had a blast in the snow. They were able to go out twice, which really worked well because the snow didn't pack at all in the morning, but it did in the afternoon. Avery was able to make his fort in the morning because the snow had melted a little on Sunday, but it refroze over night. Then the boys made Chloe a snowman, and she was thrilled. She just stood there staring at it. She named it Frosty, of course!
We have really enjoyed the snow, and actually still have some on the ground. Frosty and the fort are hanging in there, but I'm sure they'll be gone by this afternoon. Chloe keeps checking on Frosty to see if he's melted.

Snow!!

We finally got some snow! Keith had to go to guard and the kids were at my sister's house, so I went outside by myself. I had to get some pictures. We still have quite a bit on the ground, but the roads are fine. Even so, schools are two hours late tomorrow. I really hate that. Just let them out for a snow day! I never liked two hours late when I was a kid, and I still think it's silly. It's not like they're really going to get anything accomplished. The boys are already asking me if they have to go!! They know me too well!
