You're welcome

This picture cracks me up every single time I see it! I'm thinking that Tims Ford State Park might want to invest in some new couches. Or maybe it's just Keith! :)

What routine?

As I type this, it's snowing again. It's been snowing on and off since early Monday morning. I think we got about five inches of snow on Mon., but not much accumulation since then. I love to watch it snow. I get even less done than usual because of the snow! :) We've had fun playing outside, building snowmen, having snowball fights, playing football and pretending the trampoline is for ice skating. Ok, so the last one was just Chloe, but she thoroughly enjoyed it! It looks as though the snow isn't going away anytime soon, because the temperature isn't expected to get out of the 20's until Friday. The kids are happy to be out of school, three days so far this week. The roads aren't that bad, but of course it's the side roads that keep them out of school. It's also the fact that it's been getting up to the mid thirties during the day, and then everything refreezes at night.
I've really loved this winter so far, and wish every year was more like this one. BUT...it's been a crazy few weeks, and I could really use some routine around here.
We spent a little over a week with Keith's family in Florida, and then came home and had two days before school started back. Unfortunately, the kids had colds, so they missed the first day back. Then I sent them the next day, but ended up picking Chloe up early. I kept her home the next day too, since it was Friday anyway, to let her rest up and feel better. She is just in kindergarten after all. On Saturday, I took her back to the doctor (three days after taking them all, just to find out it was a virus), and she had double ear infections. Of course this was also Keith's guard weekend, so I was on my own for most of it. And now this week...
It's actually been a great week, and we've really enjoyed the snow and the time off of school, but I can't remember the last time I went to the grocery store for a regular trip. You know you've had a little too much togetherness when you get excited about going to the grocery store by yourself!! I'm thinking today seems like a good day to get out. :)

Merry Christmas!!

I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas! We've had a wonderful day! We normally travel on Christmas day, but today we didn't have to go anywhere. It was amazing!! We all really enjoyed being at home all day and just enjoying each other and all the new things too. The snow just made it that much better. We didn't get enough to play in, but it snowed for much of the day, and it was beautiful to watch. I can't think of a way to make the day any better.

As Chloe would say...it was the best day ever. :)

Happy weekend before Christmas!!

Chloe really enjoyed sliding in the snow, obviously! I love the continuous shutter speed option on my camera. It's great for getting funny action shots, which are some of my favorite. We're headed out this afternoon to celebrate with my family, so I thought I would leave you with a few funny pictures. I hope you all have a great weekend!

Here's a funny picture of Avery. Every time I turn around, he's outgrown his clothes, so we had to resort to raiding Keith's closet. Obviously, these pants are a little big, but the fact that he wore them, along with Keith's snow boots (from when we lived in Alaska!) is kind of scary. :)

Finally, I leave you with this picture of Brady. I mean, what snow day is complete without a gun?! (please notice the orange tip, it's just an airsoft gun!)

Snow day!

We had a snow day...before Christmas! We don't normally get snow this early, but we'll take it! We all love the snow, and enjoy getting out to play in it, but the combination of not much snow and the very cold temps kept us in most of the day. Chloe wanted to go out as soon as we got up, but later, when we did go out, she got cold pretty quickly. We had a fun day inside though, playing games and watching a movie.
I will have to admit that I was kind of torn about this snow day. I still have shopping and things to get done, and I only have a few days left to do it without kids, but I still love a snow day!

How can you tell that a five year old helped decorate for Christmas?
