Bronchial pneumonia
That's what Chloe has. She's not been feeling well for about a week and a half, but she was starting to sound worse instead of better. Her cough was waking her up at night even with cough medicine. We've been trying to decide whether or not to take her to the doctor for a couple of days. It's hard to decide because nights are always the worst, but then she seems fine during the day, other than the cough. Finally we decided to pay the co-pay just for a little piece of mind. I'm very thankful that I took her today. She really hates going to the doctor. I mean REALLY hates it. I know I'm being paid back with this because I once ran from the doctor over a flu shot. Anyway, she did really great today. We came home with an antibiotic, cough medicine and an inhaler. We have to do the inhaler every six hours, day and night, for a couple of days, so it's going to be like having a baby again. Hopefully she'll be much better in a couple of days. It's such a helpless feeling when you have sick kids.

I read if you give a child a teaspoon of honey right before bed it last all night and works better than Rx cough meds. I have not tried this yet, but if you do, let me know how it works.
Honey is THE best cough medicine ever. Obviously, it's not for little bitty ones but it is the only cough medicine we use (big people too!) I'm sure there are situations (like Chloe's) which call for something stronger, but for post-cold coughs that seem to hang on forever, honey is great and its effects last all night.
I have no idea why it works!
OH, I am so sorry. Chloe, I hope you get to feeling better soon!!
Chloe, I hope you can get rid of your cough and feel better soon!
Well, I've also heard rubbing Vick's Vapor Rub on the bottom of their feet before bed helps with the cough too, but I'm not sure how that would help with Bronchial Pneumonia.
oh, that sounds terrible! i'm so sorry!!
