Wonderful show...

I absolutely love this show! We all enjoy it, even the kids. They love the construction and seeing it all finished, but I think they like to see the families also. I think it's a great way for the kids to see that there are people in need. Sometimes we think we need something, but it's really a want. I can't really say I need anything. There are plenty of things I want, but after watching that show, it just makes me feel selfish. I always enjoy watching the family as they walk through their new house filled with things that will make their lives easier. Their new homes enable them to live life more freely and be more independent. Yes, they have all the electronic gadgets a person could possibly want, but after what they've been through, I think they deserve a little luxury. I think my kids are pretty normal and of course they want things, but after watching that show it really makes them more thankful for what they have. It might not make them ask for stuff less, but I think they realize how important our family is, and how blessed we are to have each other. I'm thankful for at least one show on tv that is really worth watching, that has meaning behind it. My new prayer to God is that we never need to have an extreme home makeover.

I love that prayer. I tell Chris every week that this is the best show on TV. You will notice that even though they are excited about the gadgets they get, that is not what they mention that they are most thankful for. I remember one woman recently cried and cried because she was so thankful they gave her running water.

We tape this every Sunday and watch it together after church. I agree that it makes the kids think a little bit about how much they have.
Sam giggles like crazy at Ty's antics!!

That's a great prayer ... speaking of home makeovers how is the new house coming?

That is one of my favorites also. I think that is a great prayer. I hope we never find ourselves in that boat either.
